Track 1 - An Agilent liquid chromatograph supplies the body. Eventually this is joined by a large concrete slab being dropped in a disused utility tunnel under a Melbourne freeway, followed by my neighbour’s door locking mechanism having a crisis and finally an arpeggiating old Hammond organ located in the sparse recreation room of a hospital ward in Heatherton.
Track 2 - Yamaha DX7 played by hand, through Alesis Quadraverb and then onto 4-track cassette tape with the playback speed adjusted.
Track 3 - The double doors of the notoriously windy Menzies Building at Monash University provides the concerned angel choir, contrasted with a salivary drone from one’s own mouth. These delectable interactions slowly give way to a dozen people in a stormwater drain, passed through a resonator.
Track 4 - Once again, Yamaha DX7 played by hand, through Alesis Quadraverb and then onto 4-track cassette tape. This early version ends abruptly as the machine ran out of tape halfway through.
Submalon - More Legend of Zelda & Myst SoundFonts, this time with an accidentally generated sub-bass kick pattern supplying the rhythmic dread.
Track 6 - As per Track 4, a reprise, but with playback speed/timbre adjusted.
Track 7 - Re-interpretation/reprise of Track 1, this time longer and with the off-time melodic component removed.
